On behalf of the city of Bath, I offer my warmest congratulations to Bath Rugby on your outstanding victory in the Gallagher Premiership Final, between my old city of Leicester and my home city of Bath.
This triumph, (score 23 to 21), is more than a sporting success — it is a moment of immense pride for our entire city.
The unwavering determination, discipline, and resilience shown by the players, coaches, and support staff throughout this season — and indeed over the past three years — have culminated in this richly deserved achievement.
You have brought tremendous joy to your loyal supporters and added a glorious chapter to Bath’s proud rugby heritage.
It was a personal honour and privilege to attend the celebrations at the beautiful Bath Rugby stadium and celebrate alongside you.
As Mayor of Bath, a former Leicester boy and now Bath’s first citizen, I raise a toast to your extraordinary success and thank you for flying the city’s flag with such passion and distinction on the national stage.
The year 2025 will be remembered as a golden vintage in Bath’s sporting story.
Your victory will resonate far beyond the pitch — through our schools, parks, and communities — inspiring a new generation to dream big and work hard.
As Tarquin McDonald so rightly said at the celebrations: success comes from unity, perseverance, and attention to detail.
Congratulations, champions — you have made Bath proud.
