The Mayor of Bath, Councillor Professor Bharat Pankhania has released the following statement:
Following the crash of the Air India passenger aircraft in Ahmedabad, India on the 12th of June 2025 with the tragic loss of many lives, it is with deep sorrow that I extend heartfelt condolences on behalf of the City of Bath to the families and loved ones of the departed following this unexpected tragedy.
As a Briton of Indian origin, I am reminded of the values we all hold dear: compassion, humanity and the duty of standing with others in their time of grief.
