Election of Mayor and Mayoral Duties

Each year the Charter Trustees of the City of Bath elect one of their number to be their Chairman and Mayor of the City of Bath and another to be Vice Chairman and Deputy Mayor of the City of Bath. They also elect a Committee of seven Charter Trustees to oversee the day-to-day functions of the Mayoralty and the Charter Trustees.

The Mayor accepts hundreds of invitations to visit organisations, charities and groups representing all parts of the local community. Invitations to the Mayor’s Parlour to meet the Mayor are extended both to local groups and visitors to the City.  See The Function of the Mayor for further information on the range of events and functions the Mayor attends.

Once the invitation has been accepted and confirmed by the Mayor, you will be sent a Protocol Form to complete and return to the Mayor’s Office.
